Hawks Prairie Community Highlight

It is rare to find a place to call home no matter your budget, lifestyle, age or hobbies, but look no further, this rare place is Hawks Prairie.

Hawks Prarie is an area where you can shop for hours then drive 10 minutes and experience some of the best bird watching in the state amongst miles of trails. It is somewhere to buy your first home, an area that is welcoming to family & personal adventure, a place to build your dream home on the water or in the trees, or retire on a golf course.

Along the north end of Hawks Prairie you will find a couple of our more adventurous & beautiful neighborhoods in Thurston County know as Beachcrest and Jubilee.

Tennis Courts in Hawks Prairie Neighborhood

Beachcrest features private beach access with picnic tables and docks to store your boat in a protected cove. In Beachcrests quiet neighborhood you can find a cozy home with a nice backyard, or go down the street five blocks and get a high-bank waterfront view of the Olympics and Mount Rainier.

Next door to the Beachcrest neighborhood you will find Jubilee, a 55 and up community that was started in 2004. Jubilee promotes an active and social lifestyle through it’s walking trails, multiple tennis courts, indoor pool, beautiful club house and organized activities and outings. Nearly a third of the homes in Jubilee are set on the Golf Club at Hawks Prairie, consisting of two 6,000-yard 18-hole courses.

As you travel south from Jubilee you will find yourself in the Meridian Campus neighborhood, one of the fastest growing areas in Thurston County. With growth comes new features, such a very modern Salish Middle School, Top Rung Brewing, and most recently The Port Taco Truck. On the sunny days you can visit the Meridian Neighborhood Park, William Ives Trail or the local off-leash dog park.

Head 10 minutes down the road to find one of the best gems of Thurston County at the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. At over 4,500 acres, it is Washington’s largest undisturbed estuary, home to 24 species of fish and 275 species of birds. When you visit be sure to take the 5-mile round-trip walk out to the end of the mile long boardwalk where you can find views of the Olympics and Mt. Rainier.

Hawks Prairie has something for everyone. You’re going to love it here as much as we do.

River Ridge Higschool

RIVER RIDGE HIGHSCHOOL

River Ridge High School (RRHS), commonly referred to as Ridge, was established in 1993 and named for its proximity to the geographical ridge of the Nisqually River valley. It earned its school nickname due to its location within the Hawk’s Prairie area of Thurston County off Exit 111 of Interstate 5, serving students living in Mushroom Corner and Tanglewilde-Thompson Place.
River Ridge and its feeder school, Nisqually Middle School, serves many students with parents who are on active duty or have retired from the military due to its proximity to Joint Base Lewis-McChord. River Ridge was constructed as a community solution to handle the over-flowing capacities of neighboring Timberline and North Thurston High Schools in the late 1980s-early 1990s, producing a more diverse student body population than the other two high schools in the district.
