Veteran’s Village: Taking care of those that have taken care of us

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”container”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”40634″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes”][vc_column_text]After a 6-month effort, Veterans Village, a new non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, has acquired property in Pierce County at 419 and 415 208th Street E. Spanaway, WA. This 5.48-acre lot has an approved preliminary plat consisting of 23 lots with an average size of 5,000 Sq. Ft each. Each lot will be used to place a 4 bedroom manufactured home.

The intent is to provide homeless and at-risk Veterans (citizens of Pierce County) with housing solutions, meals, behavioral health care, living condition stability, employment seeking assistance and vocational training. The goal is to transition individuals back into society by providing these ‘wellness services’.

Brian C. Tarrance, Vice President of Veterans Village thanked others that have helped to bring this project to life and give back to Veteran’s per their slogan, “Veteran’s helping Veteran’s”.

“The acquisition of this property The acquisition of this property could not have been possible without the help of Rep. Andrew Barkis (Washington State Representative), Mr. Mark Merrill (Shared Housing Services), and Mr. Bob Peterson (Washington State Housing and Finance Commission).”

Al Eckroth, Broker at Virgil Adams Real Estate, who assisted Veteran’s Village in their purchase adds:

“I think it goes without saying that all of us need to help those that have protected our freedom by providing an opportunity to obtain a productive life”

The next step in this project will be land development, but in the meantime, if you would like to help this great cause you can contribute directly to their GoFundMe campaign at
